Degree Requirements for the Certificate of Completion in Christian Studies

Calvary Chapel Golden Springs Bible College awards the title of Certificate of Completion in Christian Studies to students who complete the 31-credit Certificate of Completion in Christian Studies Program. To receive this Certificate of Completion, a minimum of 31 credits must be completed with a passing grade (C- or above). Students can complete the program in as little as one year or at the individual pace of each student.

The Certificate of Completion in Christian Studies Program is a non-degree course of study intended for students who do not have a high school diploma or are not desirous of college-level academics. This course of study also benefits those with learning disabilities for whom academics are extremely difficult. The following are the Course Requirements for this 31-credit program:

Core Requirements: A minimum of 31 credits must be completed by the following required courses:

Old Testament and New Testament Survey Courses: A minimum 6 credits must be completed with the Old Testament or New Testament Survey courses. These 3 credit classes consist of a verse-by-verse study through the entire Bible taught by Pastor Chuck Smith.

Required Bible Courses: A minimum of 15 credits must be completed with required Bible classes. These include Genesis or Pentateuch (3 credits), a Gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John) or Life of Christ (3 credits), Acts (3 credits), Romans (3 credits), and Revelation (3 credits).

Theology Courses: A minimum of 6 credits must be completed with a required Biblical Doctrines course (3 credits) and an Inductive Bible Study class (3 credits).

Foundations Course: A minimum of 2 credits must be completed with the required Attributes of God course. This could also be an Apologetics (2 credits), a Cults-Comparative Religions (3 credits), or Ethics (2 credits) class.

Ministry Course: A minimum of 2 credits must be completed with a required Philosophy of Ministry course.

Student Learning Outcomes for the Certificate of Completion in Christian Studies are the following:

– The student will exhibit general knowledge of the Bible, theology, and the core of Christian Ministry by properly interpreting, applying, and communicating the Scriptures in ways that support the local church community.

– The student will be able to practice spiritual insight and Christ-like ethics to various aspects of Christian work, community relationships, and church ministry as a foundation for life.
